I got secrets locked up inside the place behind my eyes. I think they're back there cuz that's where it feels like I hear the answers to the things they say. I wanna tell them, but noises come instead. If I can hear the words inside that space up there , I don't know why they can't. It gets so loud sometimes but I can't make the words come out of my mouth like theirs do. Maybe someday they'll all come spilling out, just like my applesauce when I've had enough. Until then, they're mine to keep - for better or worse.

This DRABBLE was my 100-word entry into the DreemPort #dreem-wotw challenge where we were to create a micro-fiction of 100 words, no more, no less!

What caught my attention was that the reason it had to be a secret wasn't that you didn't want to, it was because you couldn't... Interesting

yes...hehehe I was speaking as a mute person who can only hear all the thoughts inside their mind but can't force their vocal cords to speak the words! I thought it would be an interesting use of the prompt for secrets! 🤗

I felt stifled I am not going to lie. I can only imagine how people who can't talk feel. Perhaps the words are there but they just can't come out. I bet they'd have much more to say. I swear I just felt a type of way reading this. You used this prompt impeccably well.

Some words have been kept in the inner mind, and no matter how you stress them, they will never come out.

Those words are the reasons for the secret.

This was poignant. I love how you took a true lived experience and placed yourself inside the shoes of that little child, imagining what it must be like to want simple things and not be able to give expression to them in a conventional way; a way that others might find easier to understand. Aye, the frustration, the angst... I wonder how hard that must be? I remember how my Jack used to get incredibly upset when he couldn't convey things through speech... how we struggled initially to understand what he was trying to communicate... and then the patience that grows on both sides as you both find a way to work together to understand each other and eventually bring about little miracles... I am praying alongside you both for another miracle 💗🙏💗
