Polar no es un amante nato de las fotografías; de hecho, es casi imposible tomárselas porque es muy juguetón e intranquilo. Polar is not a natural born picture taker; in fact, it is almost impossible to take pictures of him because he is so playful and restless. This time, after he ran and rolled in the grass (he loves to do it) he sat down near me. I took the opportunity to take some pictures of him, as I rarely get the chance to do so. He just sat still, looking at me intently. Polar is usually a rebellious canine, somewhat rustic, but no less loving. I usually have a lot of fun when I play with him.

Eso sí, le encanta ladrar y asomar la cabeza por el enrejado del jardín, todavía más cuando ve a otro perro del vecindario. Nuestros vecinos se asombran al verlo, y hasta dicen, con humor, que a Polar le encanta chismear. La verdad, creo que tienen la razón.
Estos días han sido muy lluviosos, por lo que Polar ensucia su pelaje con mucha frecuencia. Como es de color blanco, y vivimos en una zona rural, es casi imposible mantenerlo limpio. Además, a este le encanta revolcarse en la grama o la tierra, incluso después de que lo bañamos. Polar no es amante de los baños... los odia. Para darle alguna medicina es un problema, aún más cuando lo llevamos a que lo inyecten para evitar que tenga sarna o pulgas. No es muy amigable con otras personas. Es más odioso en ese sentido.

These pictures were not planned; something I really like about Polar is the color in his eyes: one blue and the other brown. He inherited that from his mother, who was a Husky. Maybe that's why he is affectionate, something that characterizes him a lot: although he seems indomitable, he knows how to express his love. Of course, he loves to bark and stick his head through the garden trellis, even more when he sees another dog in the neighborhood. Our neighbors are amazed to see him, and even say, with humor, that Polar loves to gossip. Actually, I think they are right.It's been very rainy these days, so Polar gets his coat dirty very often. Since he is white, and we live in a rural area, it is almost impossible to keep him clean. Also, he loves to roll around in the grass or dirt, even after we bathe him. Polar does not love baths... he hates them. To give him any medicine is a problem, even more so when we take him to be injected to prevent him from getting mange or fleas. He is not very friendly with other people. He is more hateful in that sense.

Polar cumplió seis años hace poco, aunque para mí sigue siendo un cachorro. Por ahora es el único perro que tenemos, después de la muerte de "Spaik", nuestro golden retriever. Todas las mañanas, antes de ir al gym, suelo jugar con Polar... o mejor dicho, este es quien me insta a hacerlo. Ladra y corretea, y brinca en dos patas solo para llenarme la ropa de barro. Me termina ensuciando, y también provocando muchas risas. El cariño que le tengo es muy grande, sobre todo por todo el tiempo que lleva con mi familia.

Polar recently turned six years old, although for me he is still a puppy. For now he is the only dog we have, after the death of "Spaik", our golden retriever. Every morning, before going to the gym, I usually play with Polar... or rather, he urges me to do so. He barks and runs around and jumps on two legs just to get mud all over my clothes.
