REGRETS AND MISTAKES

"Earlier today in my alpha group, a conversation about how Hive had sheltered most of us (most of my members are Hivers) resonated with everyone. I felt this last when I started airdrop farming, and I think it is worth discussing.

Prior to my exploit outside this space, I thought I knew a lot about Web 3. I was humbled when I started to interact with other people in the space. It occurred to me then that I was still living in the summer of 2018, and crypto had moved on.

If there is something that Hive does really well, it is keeping you in the ecosystem. At the peak of the Dapp revolution on Hive, Hivers had everything from bubbly social platforms, community, DeFi, and games. In addition, it was profitable to be here, so many of us did not see the need to explore.

Now more than ever, there is a need to explore beyond the confines of the Hive ecosystem. Besides the huge opportunity to make money, there is a lot to learn and possibly implement here. For instance, Mini-Dapps is something that has been gaining traction. TON is using Telegram to onboard millions into their ecosystem.

One of the reasons the Hive narrative hasn't evolved over the years is because there haven't been many challenging views or ideas that have been allowed to flourish. Most times when ideas are shared, they are easily turned down by powerful entities in the space, most of which are nowhere to be found these days.

Another reason Hive hasn't evolved is that we haven't had new and powerful entrants into the ecosystem. The Decentralized Hive Fund hasn't worked as it should—to fund new projects and marketing. I still think Hive needs a development company owned by the community with real experts. Decentralization is a fun idea, but at its extreme, it can be counterintuitive.

It is important for Web 3 enthusiasts to evolve with the industry without losing their core beliefs or goals. This enables users to adapt and founders to create products and services that meet market demand. Relying solely on the underlying technology powering the chain is counterintuitive and does not allow for growth."

I wish someone from Hive could develop a telegram base game for us, to ride in the current Web 3 waves, it could change everything for us.

That would be great. Unfortunately, Hive doesn't have the culture of jumping on trends. It hasn't always worked out in the ecosystems favour.
