Alright, almost a month is over and I am yet to draw up a concrete resolution. As far as the year is going. It's going great. I get up I go office, I come back home, eat, sleep and repeat. It is so monotonous that I bet at times people see me as an NPC (non-player character) in their life. Hell, I feel like an NPC at times. Anyway, will take a break from the self-depreciation based on my daily routine. Let us focus on the dangerous game that I am playing, Flying without a plane. Or in my case, it is more like skydiving without a parachute.
In my previous post, I may have mentioned how 2022 had kicked me in the wallet so hard that I basically spent the entire year worrying about my finances. And the ripple of bad financial planning can be seen this year too. So I decided to be resolute about having 2lacs in my bank account before the end of the year. (Yay!!!!. That’s what I am talking about…) So that even if I am out of action for 2-3 months the rent can be paid off, and there is food on the table for the family.
But just now I realized that I forgot to plan. And a resolution without an action plan is simply a wish. And unless you got a genie or lady luck in your back pocket they don't come true that often. So here I am searching the internet for methods for earning and saving, that is enough to last for 3 months. So my action plan is to have a plan. While searching for methods of savings I came across a lot of good advice and some ridiculous ones too. Like, Instead of keeping the money in the bank, cash it and keep it with you. (Wait let me facepalm again.) But many of the saving ideas make sense. Like having a separate account altogether to handle daily affairs or opening a joint account with your spouse and pooling in the money there and having share control of that account. Don't go on a shopping spree. And a lot more.
Again, I am a man without a plan. And that got to change. The trouble with finances and something that I don't wish upon my worst of enemies. Having seen the disastrous effects of poor management up close. I changed. And got rid of my debts and habits that were bleeding me dry. But with the addition of the newest member in the family, the equation changed and I think it's time that I change again. (Actually, it is way past time, but as they say better late than never). And If I am able to follow through, I think sweet rewards are guaranteed.
