This is my submission for the #wednesdaywalk from @tattoodjay and #makemesmile challenge of @elizacheng
It's always nice to go for a walk in a natural environment. Although I often stay close to my home when I work from home I do see spot new things every now and then. I'm interested in nature, so when I spot something I don't know I use my Obsidentify app to determine what it is and read about it. During this recent walk I spotted something I hadn't seen before and learnt something new.
Along the road to a nearby park there are really a lot of Row parsley and Rapeseed. They form a nice sea of white and green.
And these aren't the only plants that do well. There are also lots of Stinging nettles. It seems that there are more and more of them. And the reason for this has to do with pollution. Because of the pollution the ground is full nitrogen and nettles grow very well on nitrogen.
So when you see loads of nettles it means the soil could be polluted with nitrogen.
But luckily there aren't nettles everywhere. In the park there is a lot more green other than nettles. The trees are also very green.
When you look up to the sky it is almost a complete green ceiling. Although I mad emt walk during daytime it is a bit dark in the park.
Although the park seems deserted it is really full of life. There are literally hundreds of birds in the park. You can hear all their different songs. I sometimes listen to music or podcasts while walking, but not in this park.
The sounds of nature are really calming.
Both in and around the park is a lot of water. These goslings ware probably just a few days old.
I was really surprused to see some fungi this late in the year. This tree trunk was full of sulphur tuft which I usually only see during fall.
During my walk in the park something caught my eye. It was on the forest floor and had a bright yellow colour. At first I thought it was litter, but when I looked a bit closer I noticed it was fungi.
I had really never seen this species before, so I determined it wit Obsidentify.
Ot seems to be Fuligo septica which is a species of slime mold that is better known as scrambled egg slime,
It consists of a yellow plasmodium that actually can move. This often results in a glossy crawling trail. How amazing!
Nature never bores...
I hope you enjoyed walking my #wednesdaywalk with me.
