This is my entry for week 125 edition 2. It's a beautiful day and very happy to be part of the participants in this week's edition. It's been an awesome doing all these tasks in this beautiful community.
The government has a pivotal role to play for any sustainable development in the community and nation at large. The developmental stride in my location is not quite encouraging because of the nature of how they handle such. Many times the projects are half baked or not properly done.
Infrastructural development is one of the surest way of reaching out to the common man. What sticks and makes other people to benefit from is the availability of infrastructural development. There are lots of developments that haven't been completed by the government which limits the activities of communards and citizens.
I this post, I will share some of the half done project in my locality by the government and how I cope with the situation. One of the factors I noticed about this ignored projects is self centeredness and lack of succession plan. The leadership structure we have in the present political scene is nothing to write home about because selfishness has overridden everything. Once they get to the position, other people's interest, welfare etc is not considered any longer rather they work to ensure that there family members are helped. This normally causes set back in continuing a project from the beginning to the end.
An indelible leadership style ought to have a vivid succession plan for at least ten years after one's tenure is over. Succession does not connote only in files alone but even in the place of doing projects. Any leader that comes on board wouldn't want to build on what the predecessor has done instead it will be abandoned and a new one is initiated. I have watched closely since the democracy started in 1999 from my governors and other stakeholders some of the project never contained. This is absolutely bad.
One of the infrastructure that was needed in my locality that was ignored is construction of roads. Infact since I was born and now even married the road still remains not motorable. This is a locality where the government gets benefits from especially in the area of agriculture. They produce rice, maize and other foodstuffs at high rate but bringing out these products to the market is always challenging because of the bad road. There was an emergence of a new government we were excited and relaxed thinking the saviour has come but unfortunately the road that connects to the township was graded which is not up to one kilometre. From the entrance you would think the road continues to the village hmmm. During rainy season even vehicle can't move in neither go out because of how bad the road is. Water normally overwhelmed everywhere and canoe is used to cross people. I could remember the canoe capsized but none of us was drowned but valuable lost. Thank God I am still alive.

Another infrastructure I consider very important is classrooms to enhance quality Educational development. Imagine the only classroom standing has only two rooms with over two hundred children. How would they survive it? Hmmmm seats aren't sufficient for the pupils as I type this the classrooms are dilapidated and need attention.
I have to cope up and encouraged the people not just to depend on the government. There are other things we can do within ourselves and pray for God to change the hearts of the government.
There so many ignored infrastructural development but I hope the aforementioned ones would go a long way.
