😊Hello warriors!
A warm welcome to another splinter-week battle with the theme unit 🐉DRAGONS🐉. This week we are allowed to chose from "ANY Rarity, Edition, Attack and Ability" of the Dragon Unit and combine with any other splinters. I have chosen the 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 teamed up with monsters from the water Unit.
🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 is an interesting card to have on deck and I'll explain why shortly. Before that, there's plenty more time left, so if you want to take part in this weeks Splinterlands battle challenge, simply go to 👉SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DRAGONS! to read up the rules of challenge.
CARD INFORMATION:🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 | |

EDITION | UNTAMED |
RARITY | LEGENDARY |
ELEMENT | DRAGON |
LEVEL | 3 |
MANA COST | 10 POINT |
ATTACK | MAGIC |
ABILITIES | FLYING, SLOW, CLEANSE, LAST STAND |
Due to its formidable defense, 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 is a strong and majestic monster that will guarantee resistance in battle for a considerable amount of time. It possesses a solid +10 shield point that will slow down my enemy. This card is super pricey and well deserving of that IMHO. It is one of Splinterlands' most sort after card for it's Rarity "Untamed" and Monstrous abilities. Players including myself, enjoy using cards with amazing abilities, which explains my liking for this card. This monster comes from the dragon element and is a Legendary card that costs 10 mana to use in battle. It is a magic attack card, and I believe it pairs well with just about any splinter as we shall be seeing in this battle.
I am using a level 3 and this card has 2-magic attack, 3-speed, 10-shield and 7-health. 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 at this level has impressive resistance which causes great damage once engaged in a favourable position [Magic can attack from any position].
As we can see from Stats, the Regular foil 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 has 3-speed, 0-Melee attack, 0-ranged attack, 2-magic, 10-shield, 6-health, and 'FLYING + SLOW' ability at the start. Level 2, it gains the 'CLEANSE' Ability. At Max level 4, it improves to 3-magic point, 7-health and gains another ability, 'LAST STAND'.
It becomes extremely powerful when it's 10-mana cost is considered and well worth it. At this maximum Level, 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 Magic attack can be increased further with summoner like DELWYN DRAGONSCALE for extra '+1 Magic' ability.
For the Market price chart 👉 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 (REGUALAR FOIL AND GOLD FOIL)
You'll see that the regular has been in demand from players, with the low price at 22$ and all time high at 120$. While for the Gold foil, this is super pricey to buy now with least price at 1599$ and all time high at 2000$. You can buy or rent this card easily in-game SPLINTERLANDS or PEAKMONSTERS. Buying the regular foil now at this prize is affordable as I have been shuttling between Gold & diamond league, never know how the market turns out.
To thoroughly make good use of the 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉, level up card to max and also get you a gold foil if you can😆.

⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP ⚔️
BUFF | SUMMONER | ELEMENT | LEVEL | RARITY |
---|---|---|---|---|
+1 MAGIC | ![]() | Dragon | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | LEGENDARY |
STRATEGY:
DELWYN DRAGONSCALE is one of my favorite Dragon summoners because I like to use a powerful magic attack against my enemy, something that can quickly deplete their life points so that the battle lasts a few rounds but not too long. Of course, I know when to use it, but for this battle, I needed DELWYN DRAGONSCALE and his inherent ability to grant me a +1 magic attack point, as my main attack 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 is of this type. I reasoned that the ruleset will make my enemy pick loads of ranged and melee attack, so i decided to come with magic which imho is stronger.
POSITION | CARD | ABILITY | LEVEL | RARITY | STATS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Front-line | ![]() | No Ability | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | GF LEGENDARY | 1-MELEE, 3-SPEED, 2-HEALTH |
STRATEGY:
In front comes the TORRENT FIEND, a zero-cost unit employed solely as a sacrifice unit, positioned to deal with cunning enemy monsters who attack the front-line monster and usually these are powerful so i will need them to take their turn already. This card can take a blow or two if lucky, and I employed it only for that purpose, not as an attacking unit per say, though it does have one melee attack.
POSITION | CARD | ABILITY | LEVEL | RARITY | STATS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
second-line | ![]() | FLYING, SLOW, CLEANSE, LAST STAND | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | LEGENDARY | 2-MAGIC, 3-SPEED, 10-SHIELD, 7-HEALTH |
STRATEGY:
In second position is the theme card. Because of its high 10-shield, 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 can deal considerable magic damage to the enemy. It's mainly a magic attacker that can attack from any position. It's 'Flying' ability will destroy non-flying melee and ranged attack enemies. It's Slow ability reduces speed of all enemies monsters. If it happens to be the only monster alive on the team, then it's Last stand ability will sustain him for longer.
POSITION | CARD | ABILITY | LEVEL | RARITY | STATS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
second-line | ![]() | Void, Phase, Forcefield | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | LEGENDARY-GOLD FOIL | 2-MAGIC, 5-SPEED, 11-HEALTH |
STRATEGY:
Next comes DJINN OSHANNUS. Legend has it that this monster is loyal and would do anything to fight against enemy. An ancient monster with powerful magic abilities. DJINN OSHANNUS excellent forcefield ability only can be attacked with monsters of +5. Magic attack misses him and if hit, his avoid ability recues the damage.
POSITION | CARD | ABILITY | LEVEL | RARITY | STATS |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
fourth-line | ![]() | Flying, Dodge, Demoralize | ⭐️⭐️⭐️ | LEGENDARY | 4-MAGIC, 6-SPEED, 7-HEALTH |
STRATEGY:
A 3 star⭐️⭐️⭐️ Legendary monster who because of his 'Flying' and 'Dodging' abilities, he has a 100% chance of dodging enemies, whether melee or ranged. If that monster has the ability to fly or evade, it cancels out the effect of those abilities. This case is highly unlikely, and that's what makes this powerful monster one of a kind. Another ability he has is the demoralize effect to melee attack. He is well deserving of his title and name as the PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS.
As you can see from my lineup, I attempted to provide a balance, focusing more on RESISTANCE to support my choice theme card. Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground.
⚔️ROUND 1⚔️
- My Enemy used the Life Unit, THE PEAKRIDER as Summoner. SHIELDBEARER in first position, ARMORSMITH in second, DEFENDER OF TRUTH in third, VENARI CRYSTALSMITH in fourth, PEACEBRINGER in fifth, and SUPPLY RUNNER in last position. Came at me with Range and Melee attack monsters, which i expected and well, impressive team line-up. So far, this season, the Life Deck has been one of the strongest splinters playing and winning back to back. I was abit startled but then, I sorta believe my Magic line up will do the job. So let's see how that went🤞.
Round 1 started, DELWYN DRAGONSCALE gives my monsters the '+1 Magic' ability , PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS 'demoralizes' and 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 'slows' down all enemy monsters speed as expected.
Enemy Summoner-THE PEAKRIDER repays the favor and tries to remove my monsters' -1 range [Bleh I have no range monsters😂]. Goes on to beef of his enemy monsters shield +3 [Impressive👌].
PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS launches first attack -4, followed by DJINN OSHANNUS -3 on enemy-SHIELDBEARER bringing him to his last life-line.
Enemy-DEFENDER OF TRUTH launches and kills my front-line monster TORRENT FIEND.
Enemy-PEACEBRINGER launches attack -4, followed by Enemy-SUPPLY RUNNER -2 on DIAMOND DRAGON shield leaving him with 5-shield protection.
In rage, DIAMOND DRAGON flies over with a deadly attack on enemy-SHIELDBEARER, killing it immediately.
⚔️ROUND 2⚔️
- Round 2 begins with enemy-VENARI CRYSTALSMITH launching an attack on DIAMOND DRAGON aho is now in first position, affecting it's shield by -1.
PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS targets and launches a deadly on enemy-ARMORSMITH, killing him instantly.
DJINN OSHANNUS also targets next enemy front liner enemy-DEFENDER OF TRUTH and kills him too [sweet😜]
Enemy-PEACEBRINGER launches attack -3, followed by Enemy-SUPPLY RUNNER -2 on DIAMOND DRAGON shield, removing it's shield protection 0. In vengeance, DIAMOND DRAGON launches an attack back at enemy-VENARI CRYSTALSMITH, removing it's shield too.
⚔️ROUND 3⚔️
- PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS swoops in, targets and launches a deadly on enemy-VENARI CRYSTALSMITH killing it immediately -4.
DJINN OSHANNUS also targets next enemy front liner enemy-PEACEBRINGER and -3 brings his health down to 2.
Enemy-SUPPLY RUNNER immediately strikes back at DIAMOND DRAGON affecting his health -2.
In vengeance, DIAMOND DRAGON flies over and launches a deadly at enemy-PEACEBRINGER, killing him instantly.
⚔️ROUND 4⚔️
- PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS swoops in, targets and launches a deadly on enemy-SUPPLY RUNNER killing it immediately -5.
⚔️FINAL RESULT⚔️
- 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 and Team lets out a thunderous shout FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!
DO I LIKE 🐉DRAGONS🐉 UNIT AND WHAT I WOULD'VE DONE DIFFERENTLY?
Dragons are my next favorite cards after Water because they are so flexible and adaptable to almost any type of rule set. We should always have a 🐉DRAGON🐉 deck to combine their great power with the rest of our cards and increase our chances of winning.
I do like 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉, because even at just level 1 this monster has a nice ability, decent health and protective shield to survive enemy attack. When placed in favourable position or backed by supporting monsters such as in this Battle, it is able to cause great damage and last longer in battle as we saw.
It has pretty awesome Magic, Shield and health, that's already a slam dunk. This only demonstrates that if you play the Dragon splinter and at medium mana cap of 30+, then this is a card to have on deck.
If there's anything i would've done different was prolly adding a more resistance melee front line instead of a sacrificial one. The battle was exciting to watch and I will keep seeking more ways to own, engage, and hopefully afford to buy 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 at Level 4.
DID MY STRATEGIES WORK?
Yes, my strategy was very effective. This battle's lineup and strategy were excellent. Although I admit it was a bit risky, after seeing the battle's rule set and my enemy's most used units, I was 95% certain that the enemy would pick up range and melee monsters.
I was also hoping that most would be under 5 mana cap, so they couldn't attack DJINN OSHANNUS, who will in turn cause damage to them and by this giving room for 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 to launch deadly attacks .
This is why I concentrated on the magic attack. Also, as previously stated, this demonstrates that the strength and power of dragons are not solely based on brute force; therefore, if we think strategically and properly manage the mana available for each battle, the victory rate will undoubtedly exceed 85%.
🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 is no doubt a decent card, and this battle challenge has surely exposed it's usefulness in battle.
😊That will be all about my weekly battle with 🐉DIAMOND DRAGON🐉 as the themed card.
