Thanks to @didiee for the mention and before I continue, I would love to invite @glowie and @merit.ahama to participate in this contest.
What was your position (in terms of birth) in the family? How did that experience help you become, or hinder you from becoming, a successful adult?

I don't know if it is in every country or just in my country where the firstborn child has got so much responsibility being a firstborn child and that is the category I fall into.
In my country being a firstborn child regardless of gender has got so many responsibilities to carry and family integrity and dignity to uphold so the other children in the family can follow and the society can see.
I am the firstborn child of the family and I must say, being a firstborn child is as tasking as being a parent except for the fact that you are still under your parents too.
As a firstborn especially after we lost our dad, I took both the responsibility of a father and a mother because my siblings were all very young when he passed away.
Although the responsibility was too heavy for a young girl me but so far so good the experience has helped me become an independent lady and a responsible lady who knows she has younger ones to carter for and younger ones who look up to me not just financially but for moral discipline.
It has hindered me from becoming, a successful adult because at a point in time in my life, I had to keep my life and plans on hold just to be able to help my family.
