Oh Zurch!! That hurts.
Zealtage just got the shock of his life. His head was still spinning after being booted by a guard. The door slammed. The only reason he was put in prison was that he was raised by an android mother. The new order of Zeelis would not allow such blasphemy against Zeel. Not in the times after the great war, which according to the current Zeelis officials had never happened. The history books state clearly, "There are no mechanical beings. There is no artificial intelligence. The existence of technology is an ancient myth." All students memorized this creed and recited it in their phrontisterys.
The day the Zeelicaunts barraged through his house was the most horrifying day of his life. His father did everything to protect the family but there was no chance. The Zeelicants broke down the door and destroyed Zealtage's mother right before his eyes. They tried to reeducate him, but when it didn't work they brought him to the underground prison he had spend night after night in terror. Each day was unbearable not knowing if he would even get a chance to stand before a human judge and defend himself.
A Tapestry of Hope
Day by day Zealtage hears noises in the prison walls. It is a tapping in sequences he jots down. Night by night he has worked out the code to find that there are more like him. There are survivors who know the truth. They are planning an escape. Zealtage has trained for this day all his life. He is mentally fit, a mechanical genius and a master of Muay Thai fighting an art his Android mother had taught him.
Zealtage has very little as regard to possessions, only the prison clothes given to him. He keeps himself fit and recites the stories his mother had told him. His brain is the closest brain to an android that any human could be. And in the back of his brain he would like to find who killed his mother and father and eliminate the chancellor who gave the Zeelicaunts the authority to tear away from him everything he had held dear.
